Guest Information

Policies and terms for stays at Hunter Huon Valley.

Access & Inclusion Statement

At Hunter Huon Valley, we are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive retreat where guests can reconnect with nature and enjoy a peaceful Tasmanian escape.

We recognise that every guest has individual access requirements, and while our cabins may not be suitable for all mobility needs, we welcome the opportunity to discuss how we can best support your stay. Due to the intimate design, layout and natural setting of our cabins, space is limited and we are unable to accommodate all accessibility requirements, including some wheelchair access needs.

Ramps to the cabin entrances can be arranged upon request prior to arrival, and we encourage guests with specific requirements to contact us directly so we can provide detailed information and discuss whether Hunter Huon Valley is the right fit for their stay.

We are continually looking for ways to improve accessibility and ensure all guests feel welcomed, respected and cared for during their time with us.

Getting here

Hunter Huon Valley is located along a council dirt road. The entrance is via a sealed driveway leading towards the cabins, which is suitable for two wheel drives, four wheel drives and standard rental cars. Due to the steep gradient of the driveway, access can be challenging for larger vehicles such as motorhomes and RVs. If you are travelling in a larger vehicle, or have any concerns about access, please contact us prior to your stay so we can discuss your vehicle access requirements.

  • Each cabin has a wood fire. Use only the wood provided, keep the door closed while it is burning, never leave a fire unattended, and never leave one alight when you go out or go to bed.
  • No open flames, fireworks or candles outdoors, and no fires of any kind outside the cabin.
  • During a declared total fire ban, additional restrictions apply. We will advise what they are and they must be followed.

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how we handle personal information, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

  • Enquiries: the information you provide in an email or in the contact form on this site.
  • Payment details: handled by our booking and payment providers. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the last digits of the card, not the full number.

How we use it

To confirm and administer your booking, to send arrival directions and door codes, to respond to enquiries, to contact you about your stay, and to meet our tax and record-keeping obligations. Marketing email is sent only to those who have requested it, and every such email includes an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

Our booking and payment providers, our email provider, our web host and our accountant. We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not disclose it overseas except where one of those providers stores data outside Australia in the ordinary course of operating its service. We may disclose information where required by law.

Retention, security and access

We keep booking records for as long as we are required to for tax and legal purposes, then destroy or de-identify them. We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. To ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to make a privacy complaint, email hello@hunterhuonvalley.co and we will respond within 30 days.
