One of three cabins on 36 acres of bushland at Glen Huon, built around a single idea: that disconnecting is easier when the room does the work for you.

There is no wifi and no television. There is a wood fire, a deep stone bath, and a skylight over the ensuite that turns out to be the best thing in the cabin at four in the morning.

Much of what is in here was made within an hour of it. Architecture by Maguire + Devine, joinery by I.D Joinery, basins thrown by Zsolt Faludi in Glen Huon, a vanity in reclaimed blackwood by Matt Black Furniture.

It sleeps two adults, or one. A queen bed with Cultiver linen, a kitchenette with a cooktop and dishwasher, a private wine collection you can buy from during your stay, and a deck of your own looking out over the valley.

The driveway is unsealed but well maintained, and a standard two-wheel-drive car handles it comfortably in all conditions. Take it slowly and watch for wildlife at dusk. Full arrival directions come with your booking confirmation.
